Before a local pool pro winterizes your pool and covers it, you can (and should) prepare the water before it hibernates for the winter.

Any pool in a cold climate needs to be balanced ahead of the cold temperatures coming. This is because cold water lowers the LSI, making water hungry for calcium (aggressive). This is why most pool surface damage occurs during the winter.

Most closing kits focus on water quality, not balance. That's why they have extra shock and algaecides. They also say to close the pool with a 7.4 pH. Most closing kits have nothing in them to help prepare your pool for the temperature drop.

What's included?

Your kit includes the right amount of specialty chemicals to close your pool.

  • CV-600 enzymes (purge dose)
  • PR-10,000 phosphate remover
  • SC-1000

What's NOT included?

You will still need to buy commodities locally; just much less of them.

  • Chlorine
  • Acid (pH down)
  • Sodium bicarbonate (alkalinity up)
  • Calcium chloride (calcium up)
